Discover Etosha National Park in Namibia on this 5-day self-drive safari focused on wildlife. You will stay in comfortable lodges near the park.
Your journey begins with one night at Okonjima, where you will join a guided night game drive to look for nocturnal predators and visit the AfriCat Foundation.
From there, you will continue north to Etosha National Park for three nights before returning to Windhoek.
Day 1: Hosea Kutako International Airport to AfriCat Foundation (Okonjima)
On arrival, a representative will meet you at Hosea Kutako International Airport and explain your safari in detail. You will then collect your rental vehicle and drive north to Okonjima Nature Reserve.
It is best to arrive before 3:00 pm so you can settle in and join your first game drive.
Day 2: AfriCat Foundation (Okonjima) to Eastern Etosha National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to the eastern side of Etosha National Park, staying at Onguma Bush Camp for two nights. The camp is close to Namutoni Gate, making it a good base for exploring the park.
Your stay includes two scheduled game drives at Onguma, and you can also self-drive in Etosha during the day. The park gates open at sunrise and close before sunset.
In the evening, you can relax and watch wildlife at the floodlit waterhole before dinner.
Day 3: Eastern Etosha National Park
Today will be a full day of game viewing with a local guide in an open vehicle. Morning drives give you a better chance to see predators while they are active.
You will leave the park before sunset, then return to camp to freshen up for dinner and spend the evening at leisure.
Day 4: Eastern Etosha to Southern Etosha National Park
After breakfast, you will drive through Etosha, stopping at waterholes and viewpoints along the way to Etosha Oberland Lodge. At the lodge, you can enjoy more game drives, take nature walks, or relax in comfort.
This is a peaceful place to end your Etosha self-drive safari.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will drive back to Windhoek. You can either continue straight to the airport or request an extra night in Windhoek before your departure.
