The Modjila Safari Camp is a well-liked accommodation about 30 km south of Etosha National Park’s Andersson Gate. It is a neat tented camp that offers a warm and relaxed atmosphere for guests from different parts of the world at a budget-friendly rate. The camp has eleven twin en-suite tents and two small family rooms, all built on raised platforms among mopane woodland. Each unit opens onto a private deck with open views of the bushveld.
The tents are simple but comfortable, with stone or concrete floors, pine furniture, mosquito nets, fans, and bathrooms with hot showers. Guests are greeted with friendly smiles from the staff and enjoy tasty meals served under a thatched dining area that overlooks the savannah. There is also a small bar, a shared fire pit, and a quiet swimming pool surrounded by a well-kept lawn, making it a nice place to rest after a day of travelling.
Though modest in size, Modjila Safari Camp provides a full safari experience. Guests can join guided game drives into Etosha, choose self-drive options, or explore walking trails on the property. It is a good choice for travellers who want to stay near the park’s entrance without paying higher rates for accommodation inside the park. Wildlife such as springbok, oryx, giraffe, and antelope are often seen grazing nearby, and the location is perfect for enjoying colourful sunsets.
Wi-Fi is available in the shared areas, allowing guests to stay connected during their stay. For those who prefer camping, the camp offers shaded grassy plots with power outlets and a braai area for outdoor cooking. This mix of comfort, affordability, and closeness to Etosha makes Modjila Safari Camp a practical and welcoming base for exploring the park.
