Sueda Waterhole is a calm and less busy spot found on the northern edge of the Etosha Pan. It is located west of Salvadora and Charitsaub waterholes, making it part of a chain of viewing points along the pan.
Unlike the floodlit waterholes at the main camps, Sueda is a natural spring that has not been developed with lights or man-made features. This gives it a more natural feel, and many visitors appreciate the quiet setting it provides.
The water here is salty because of its closeness to the pan. For this reason, animals do not always drink directly from the main spring but often use nearby places where the water is less salty. Even with this, the waterhole still attracts wildlife during the dry season when other sources are limited.

There is a parking area above the waterhole, giving visitors a clear view across the golden grasslands and the wide white salt pan. Although Sueda does not have the constant activity found at waterholes close to camps such as Okaukuejo or Namutoni, its appeal lies in the peaceful atmosphere.
Visitors may spend long periods here simply enjoying the stillness and waiting for something to appear. On lucky days, cheetahs or other predators can be spotted, which makes the visit exciting and rewarding.
Sueda Waterhole is therefore valued as a peaceful stop for travelers exploring Etosha, combining open views, the chance of seeing predators, and the experience of being in a more remote part of the park.
