This 10-day Namibia tour takes you to some of the country’s main highlights. You will enjoy cultural visits, explore Etosha National Park, and have the chance to see desert-adapted animals in Damaraland.
You will also visit Swakopmund, a coastal town known for land and sea activities, and end your journey in Sossusvlei, home to some of the highest dunes in the world.
Day 1: Windhoek
Welcome to Namibia. On arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport near Windhoek, a representative will meet you in the arrivals hall and take you to your guesthouse to rest.
If arranged in advance, a city tour can be done before dinner at an extra cost.
Day 2: Windhoek to Etosha National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a short city tour, then drive north to Etosha for about 4–5 hours. Pass through Okahandja, near Okonjima Nature Reserve and Waterberg Plateau National Park, then through Otjiwarongo, a fast-growing town with many German-speaking residents.
Have lunch along the way and arrive at your lodge in the afternoon. If time allows, take a short game drive.
Day 3: Etosha National Park
Spend the day exploring the southwestern part of Etosha. Stop for lunch at Halali Camp. The park offers excellent photography opportunities with its wildlife, birds, and light.
Return to camp for dinner. Many camps have floodlit waterholes for night viewing.
Day 4: Etosha National Park
After breakfast, take a morning game drive before returning to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the dry season, many animals gather at waterholes, attracting predators.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive before dinner. At night, enjoy the clear, star-filled sky.
Day 5: Etosha to Damaraland via Himba Village
After breakfast, travel to Damaraland for one night. Visit a Himba Village, then see the petrified forest, Welwitschia plant, organ pipes rock formation, and burnt mountain.
Look out for desert elephants, black rhinos, and lions.
Day 6: Damaraland to Swakopmund
Stop at Uis, then head to the Skeleton Coast. Visit Cape Cross seal colony before arriving in Swakopmund. Walk around town before dinner.
Day 7: Swakopmund
After breakfast, travel to Walvis Bay for a 4×4 trip to Sandwich Harbour. Return to Swakopmund for lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring or relaxing.
Day 8: Swakopmund to Sossusvlei
Travel through Namib-Naukluft Park to Sossusvlei. If time allows, stop in Solitaire for apple pie. Arrive at your lodge by sunset.
Day 9: Sossusvlei
Leave early to see the dunes at sunrise. Visit Dead Vlei, have a picnic, and see Sesriem Canyon before returning to the lodge for your last dinner.
Day 10: Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Windhoek through the Namib Desert and Khomas Highland. Watch for ostriches, gemsbok, and kudu.
Arrive in the afternoon and, if not done earlier, take a city tour before being dropped at the airport or your accommodation.
