Goas Waterhole is found on the eastern side of Etosha National Park, not far from Namutoni Camp. It is well known as one of the best places for regular wildlife sightings in this part of the park, making it a favorite stop for many visitors.
The waterhole is a natural spring surrounded by mopane woodlands and open plains. During the dry season, which lasts from May to October, it becomes especially busy as animals gather to drink when other water sources dry up. This waterhole is also popular with bird lovers. This makes Goas a rewarding place for photography, both for animals and for birdlife.
Reaching Goas is easy on a self-drive safari, with parking areas and viewpoints designed for safe and clear visibility. Visitors who are patient may even be rewarded with rare sightings, such as honey badgers or caracals, which occasionally appear in the area.
Although Goas does not have floodlights like the waterholes at some rest camps, the best times to visit are early in the morning or late in the afternoon. The softer light at these times makes viewing and photography easier, and the animals are usually more active.
Goas Waterhole is valued by both first-time safari visitors and experienced travelers. Its steady wildlife presence and peaceful surroundings make it one of the most reliable and enjoyable stops in Etosha National Park.
